
Mrs. Bridges' class had a video call with author Ann Marie Stephens for World Read Aloud Day. She shared her book Arithmechicks Play Fair, a book about fractions. They got to ask questions about what it's like to be an author, where she gets her ideas from, and more!

We had a great full week of school this week and we enjoyed celebrating being 100 days smarter! It is always nice to be in the building and see all the happy faces in the hallway!
This coming week we will be practicing a high level threat drill. During the drill, the office will not be able to answer the door or phones. If you happen to come to the building or call during this time, please be patient as we practice the procedures for this drill.

SCA will be having a Spirit Day tomorrow, December 18th. The Spirit Day is Candy Cane Day. Students are encouraged to wear either red or white on Monday in support of one of the candy cane colors. We will be announcing the winning team, either red or white, during an assembly on Monday.
Culpeper County High School’s Band and Choir will be joining us Monday for a holiday concert. We are looking forward to welcoming them to our school and listening to their amazing performance.
There will be no school Friday, December 22nd, through Wednesday, January 3rd, for winter break. We look forward to welcoming students back on Thursday, January 4th.

Huge thank you to our Emerald Hill community for coming together to help our neighbors in need during the holidays. We collected more than 6200 items for the Culpeper County Christmas Basket Program! Luckily they brought more than one vehicle because it would not have all fit in the trailer!
