Attention Eagles! The cafeteria is swapping the breakfast and lunch choices for Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
On Wednesday they will serve french toast for breakfast and chicken patty with baked beans and broccoli for lunch.
On Thursday they will serve breakfast pizza for breakfast and nachos with refried beans and corn for lunch.

This coming Friday, we will be hosting our annual “Veteran and Me” breakfast at Emerald Hill. We look forward to seeing all of our Veterans that RSVPed for the event on Friday from 9-10am. If your child has a Veteran attending, please let the Veteran know to check in at the front office before heading to the cafeteria for the event.

Mrs. Burgh's 3rd graders participated in a spooky activity on Tuesday, making observations about some creepy objects using their sense of touch.


Ms. Thomas's 4th graders checked in on their pumpkin planter sprout experiment this morning. They discussed dependent and independent variables and observed the different rates of growth in plants with more and less sunlight.


Last week, Mrs. Kaminski's 5th graders participated in a rock identification lab with Mr. Lacey.

There are a lot of lost and found items already this year. If your child has lost any items at Emerald Hill this school year, please have them check our lost and found table by the front door this week.
Our SCA has voted on their next spirit day, Dress up Day, on October 31st. Students may wear costumes to school on October 31st. Student costumes should not interfere with learning and cannot include weapons or face masks.
Looking ahead, we will not have school on November 7th for Election Day.
This year for Veterans Day we will be hosting our annual “Veteran and Me” breakfast at Emerald Hill. We invite all our Veterans to join us in the cafeteria on November 10, from 9-10am with their student(s) for donuts, coffee and juice. This event is limited to Veterans and their EHE students only. Ms. Thomas' 4th-grade class used pumpkins to plan and conduct an investigation to determine how the amount of sunlight a plant receives affects the plant's growth. They are excited to watch their pumpkin go through its life cycle!

We had such a fun time at our Trunk or Treat on Friday! Thank you to all of our families that came and supported our school and a huge shout out to all our amazing trunkers!
Emerald Hill is volunteering at the CCHS Varsity Football game this coming Friday. We will be helping in their concession stand. We would love to see many of our Eagles there to support the Blue Devils. If you come to the game, make sure you stop by the concession stand and say hello!

As chair of the Trunk or Treat committee, I wanted to reach out to let you know we WILL be having our Trunk or Treat event rain or shine tomorrow. Due to the forecasted rainy weather, we have pivoted and moved the event inside and look forward to you joining us for our Haunted Hallways.
As previously stated, all wristband ticket sales to participate in this event are complete at this time, but we look forward to seeing all of our students that pre-purchased tickets on Friday from 6-7:30pm.

Big thanks to everyone who donated to the PTO Fun Run Fundraiser! Yesterday, the eagles who brought in the most donations received some awesome rewards! The top 4 earning students from the school got to have lunch on the roof with Dr. Gelbert and Mrs. Lane, while the top earning student from each class got to go on a limo ride!




Attention Eagle families! This Thursday our students will see a presentation from the Harlem Wizards in our own gym. If you want more basketball fun, come to EVHS Thursday night at 7PM to watch CCPS teachers take on the Harlem Wizards! Hope to see you there!

We have some exciting things happening at Emerald Hill this week!
On Thursday, the Harlem Wizards will be coming by Emerald Hill for a presentation for our students. We are looking forward to hosting the short presentation and providing our students with this fun opportunity. The Harlem Wizards will be playing a full game, with some CCPS staff, on Thursday, October 19th at Eastern View High School at 7pm. If you’re interested in attending Eastern View’s Harlem Wizard fundraiser, more information can be found on their athletic website at easternviewathletics.com.
Also, this coming Friday is our Trunk or Treat event. Ticket sales are complete at this time, but we look forward to seeing all of our students that pre-purchased tickets at our Trunk or Treat on Friday from 6-7:30pm.
The four FFA chapters within the middle and high schools in Culpeper County are collectively hosting a Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 21st from 10am-2pm on the lawn at Eastern View High School. There will be free pumpkins for the first 50 children. The festival will include a variety of educational stations revolving around agricultural topics along with fun and games. Feel free to join them for some fun and free fall activities.
