Today, CTEC was honored once again to host the Veterans Day Luncheon for our local heroes. Lunch was prepared and served by our talented Culinary Arts students, and guests enjoyed a heartfelt performance by the Culpeper County High School Choir. 🎶
Adding a personal touch, veterans received cards filled with messages of gratitude, created to show appreciation for their service and sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙
We are deeply grateful to all who have served and continue to serve our country. Thank you, Veterans, for your dedication and courage.

This year, the Chamber donated $2,000 to Career Partners, Inc. and $2,000 to CTEC to fund dual enrollment scholarships. Your generosity helps our students get a head start on their futures!
We’re so grateful for this partnership and the Chamber’s commitment to education and workforce development in our community.

Virginia will temporarily issue state-funded food assistance on a weekly basis to households’ existing EBT cards while federal SNAP benefits are delayed.
These state funds, called the Virginia Emergency Nutrition Assistance (VENA) program, will:
✅ Use the same EBT cards and beneficiaries as SNAP
✅ Deliver about ¼ of monthly benefits each week
✅ Begin issuing benefits on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in November
For questions or the latest updates, visit DSS.Virginia.gov
or contact your local Department of Social Services office.

Together, we raised $9,166.00 for CTEC student scholarships! 🏅
A huge thank-you to our sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who came out to run, walk, cheer, and support this great cause. Your energy and enthusiasm made the day a huge success!
We can’t wait to see everyone back next year for the 5th Annual Trailblazer Trot! 💙

They shared real-world experiences and practical advice on recognizing potential dangers, securing a scene, and working effectively with law enforcement to protect both patients and responders. Students learned how to assess scenes for hazards such as traffic, violence, or environmental risks before providing care.
The presentation also emphasized teamwork, communication, mental health, and situational awareness—key skills that help ensure everyone goes home safely.

In another activity, students examined pig hearts and lungs, which closely resemble those of humans in both size and structure. This lab helped bring classroom anatomy lessons to life, giving students a deeper understanding of how the cardiovascular and respiratory systems work together in real medical emergencies.

The week concluded with a joint trip — Fire and EMT students toured the Culpeper County Public Safety Communications Center and the Culpeper County Office of Emergency Services. Fire students also took part in a hands-on exercise where they had to guide each other in building a LEGO structure, using only radio communication and the skills they had practiced throughout the week.

Culpeper County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, August 29 and Monday, September 1, 2025 in observance of Labor Day.
We wish all our students, staff, and families a safe and relaxing holiday weekend!
